We all know how important it is to protect our eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays, but what about the harmful effects of blue light and what is blue light?

Blue light is part of the visible light spectrum and reaches deeper into your eye. It's cumulative effect can cause damage to your retina and is connected to the development of age-related macular degeneration.

Where is blue light found? Blue light is everywhere. Sources of blue light includes the sun, as well as artificial sources such as digital screens, electronic devices such as cell phones and laptops, and fluorescent and LED lighting.

How can we protect our vision from the harmful effects of blue light exposure? Wearing a lens treated with a blue-light filter coating can reduce the symptoms of eyestrain as well as dry eyes, sticky eyes, and the feeling of grittiness or "sand" in the eye.
